We start the week with the “void-of-course” Moon – the Moon moving through Sagittarius without making a connection to any other planet until it exits the Zodiac sign just after 4 PM EST. When the Moon does not produce interactions with other celestial bodies, we don’t produce either. We may be passionate about moving forward with this New Sag Moon, but it’s better to relax and wait until the late afternoon or early evening to start anything new. Moon in Sagittarius times can be and should be pleasant and happy, and this sign always benefits exploring something new.
In the late afternoon (or, with the short days of December, rather in the early evening of Monday), the Moon moves to Capricorn. This is a time for a serious effort – aim high and act swiftly. This time is as good for business as it is good for any personal decisions and actions. The Moon is making a contact with Saturn, a planet of limitations and barriers, but this aspect is one of opportunity, and, with Saturn being in watery Pisces, it’s a great time to break the barriers and to change the rules. When charging ahead, don’t forget that we still have a retrograde Mercury. Double check information, dates, and documents if you don’t want to be disappointed later. The Moon shares the Zodiac sign with Venus, and, even in a serious and ambitious Capricorn, this makes the Monday evening, Tuesday, and especially Wednesday (when they are close together) a pleasant or at least satisfying time. It may not be a particularly social time, but definitely a time when we will be pleased with our achievements and progress. On Wednesday evening, the Moon and Venus will be close to each other when you look west after the sunset – this is a beautiful sight, a crescent new Moon with a bright Venus. As Venus is rapidly moving to her longest distance from the Sun and prepares to go retrograde in 2025 in three months, she looks higher, brighter and larger in the sky after the sunset. While in Capricorn, the Moon is “out-of-bounds”, which means that she is a little off the usual narrow path of the planets in the sky and makes our emotions, routines, and our bodies out of normal path too. She moves through the Zodiac slowly these days and will remain in Capricorn until very late on Wednesday, spending more than two full days in the same Zodiac sign.
Thursday starts with a bit of a stress, with nervous Moon in Aquarius conjunct Pluto and opposing Mars that almost stands still ready to go retrograde in just two days. However, there are other developments on this day that will make it quite remarkable and interesting. In the evening, we have a Mercury Cazimi – a tight conjunction of mercury and the Sun, when the Sun rays illuminate the planet and make it especially strong and powerful. In addition, both the Sun and Mercury will oppose Jupiter, and the contact with Jupiter is always a time for expanding the effect of a planet. As Mercury gets his super powers from the Sun and Jupiter, it’s a great time to send out communications, sign the papers, write, talk, and do any other mercurial things. Capitalize on the moment – this is a short time during Mercury retrograde when Mercury supports our activities, and it only lasts for a couple of hours! On Friday morning, the Cazimi is over, but the connection to Jupiter will persist through the day, and the Moon is in agreement with both the Sun/Mercury and with Jupiter, making this day harmonious and pleasant. The evening may bring some surprises or a stress of unexpected. However, nothing will come out of the unexpected developments, as the Moon is void of course again and does not support any movement and development. On this day, Mars turns retrograde, taking away our desire to act and to move forward for the next couple of month.
Saturday starts with the Moon in early Pisces, and she does not connect with any other planets for a while, encouraging us to start slowly and take our time to relax and sleep in. The evening may bring out responsibilities and some tension. There may be delays and obstacles, as well as some frustration. Illusions may be abandoned as Neptune, the planet of dreams and illusions turns direct on this day: we may start seeing the reality more clearly, especially as the Moon conjoins Saturn in the evening. Some tension and frustration remain on Sunday. This is another slow day that is best spent in relaxation or enjoying music and arts. Sunday is a perfect day to watch a movie while snuggling under a blanket. We may still be in a sleepy relaxation mode on Monday morning, but this will quickly change as soon as the Moon moves into Aries.
