Uranus and Pluto in Air Signs and Information

Uranus will re-enter the sign of Gemini at the end of April. This is not when the transit started – Uranus already dipped into Gemini in July–November of the previous year before turning retrograde and returning to Taurus for several months.

Two outer planets present in the Air signs simultaneously is a big deal: this signals a turning point in the life areas related to the element of Air. While Uranus brings innovation and rapid change, Pluto ensures complete transformation, with no return to the past, wherever it transits. Both Gemini and Aquarius are the domains of information, and planets in these signs define how information is generated, processed and shared.

Uranus and Pluto were in these same signs simultaneously between 1778 and 1782, with Uranus in Gemini from 1775–1782 and Pluto in Aquarius from 1778–1798. To demonstrate how the exchange of information changed during those years (in addition to the revolutionary events around the world that are widely discussed today in relation to the zodiac positions of Uranus and Pluto), I need only mention two important developments: the birth of the United States Post Office under the leadership of Benjamin Franklin as the first Postmaster General in 1775 and the arrival of daily newspapers in 1785.

Of course, people had exchanged letters and circulated newspapers since antiquity, but this was the time when public postal services became widely available and daily newspapers appeared in every town, giving the public easy access to a daily source of information and communication.

That was then – a different time. The Great Conjunctions of Jupiter and Saturn were occurring every twenty years in Earth signs. Thus, developments were associated with tangible innovations – the creation of new instruments, structures, and the material foundations of information exchange.

Today, the importance of the Air element is emphasized by the Great Conjunctions in Air signs, suggesting that tangible innovations and attachment to material means are no longer the primary focus. This time around, it’s all about words and thoughts (Gemini) and ideas and vision (Aquarius). It’s not about creating new instruments for information transmission and reception; it’s not about government or private structures handling information.

With the development of the Internet, we have gained the ability to send and receive information directly from one person to another – we learn about the latest news from social media faster than from newspapers. AI can create almost anything we wish for, from a simple image to a lifelike video, a new website, or a game app. It’s not about having the right tools or instruments; it’s about knowing what we want to create and being able to express our thoughts clearly in words. If you use AI, you know how important the ability to clearly visualize the final product and precisely request its creation in clear words is. This is the skill we will all be working on for several years – learning to understand what we want to create and how to express it clearly in words.

Beyond AI development, these skills will be important in every domain of life. Our brains and the informational space are so polluted with countless opinions, ideas, proposals, and suggestions. Very few of them make sense, follow common logic, or capture our interest. To survive without becoming compromised or exhausted, we will have to develop the logic and analytical abilities of the Air element to discern what is important and what is not – or even what is true and what is not. To be heard and appreciated, we will need to become logical and precise, as well as eloquent and clear in expressing our thoughts and words. This will be one of the most important tasks and lessons of the simultaneous transit of Pluto and Uranus through the Air signs.
