Astrotips for wellness in 2026

We entered May with the Full Moon in Scorpio, which acted like a stop sign - encouraging us to slow down, pace ourselves, and reflect on whether we are moving in the right direction. After an intense and busy period with multiple planets in Aries, which pushed for impulsive and immediate action, the Sun moving through fixed Earth sign Taurus, along with Mercury’s ingress into Taurus immediately after the Scorpio Full Moon, all encourage a slower and more grounded pace of life.

There are still considerable intensity and urgency, with a square between exalted Jupiter and Mars in Aries - the sign where Mars is strongly positioned to express assertiveness and aggression – and upcoming square between Mars in Taurus and retrograde Pluto in Aquarius. However, we are quickly moving into one of the sweetest periods of 2026: late May and June, when Mars weakens after entering Taurus, the sign of its exile; Venus moves into Cancer conjoins Jupiter; and the three outer planets - retrograde Pluto, Uranus, and Neptune - form harmonious connections in the sky.

While enjoying a brief pause in the year’s intensity and preparing for the challenges of the coming years, our health and wellness goals should include grounding practices. We are entering a period, in which most planets will be in Fire and Air signs, with only brief visits from fast-moving celestial bodies into Earth or Water signs. With the outer planets and Saturn in Fire and Air signs, and Jupiter entering Leo by July, the overall energy becomes restless and unfocused, though also passionate and inspired.

Without grounding practices and intentional connection to our emotions, it may be difficult to focus, complete tasks, follow through on projects and conversations, or turn ideas and insights into tangible outcomes.

So, what practices can bring Earth and Water energy into our lives when they are absent in the sky? These practices are different for everyone: gardening, walking barefoot to reconnect with the Earth, meditation and yoga

to return to the body, or carrying stones in a pocket and decorating our spaces with crystals. Walking by a lake or the ocean, tending a fish tank, keeping a small fountain in the bedroom, swimming, canoeing, or watering plants—all help process emotions and restore a sense of well-being.

To develop a personal grounding plan, look to your natal chart and the elements of your personal planets. The Sun and Moon can indicate what best supports your body; Venus can show what activities you are likely to enjoy; and Mars can reveal what motivates you and how you prefer to take action. To better understand the meaning of each sign and element, refer to rulership texts such as those by Rex Bills and Lee Lehman.

Enjoy this brief period of harmony in the sky and prepare for another shift toward intensity and complexity beginning in July.
