8:06 PM EDT on September 22nd marks the beginning of fall with the Sun moving into the sign of Libra and the Autumnal Equinox – the equal time of day and night, the change of seasons and the transition to shorter days in Northern hemisphere. Libra is the sign of balance and balancing. Not only the day and night are balanced at this point of the year, but our whole lives are adjusting to the transition into a new season. Libra is also a relationship sign, and I have been reflecting on the role of relationships in our lives and the ways they balance the life involving us into current moment activities, creating a balance between work and life, offering support for the areas that are going out of balance, bringing in conversations where silence reigns in solitude, and shifting our focus to another person’s needs from a egocentric self-focused lifestyle.

The Equinox chart is unusual – it lacks energy of Earth as not a single of 10 planets astrologer usually work with is in an Earth sign. This indicates that practical moves and decision as well as producing tangible outcomes may be now complicated and may require more efforts than it normally does. It’s a time to give more energy and time to formulating ideas and plans rather than expecting productive results.

Another feature of the chart is its hot nature. The majority of planets are in Air and Fire signs, two hot elements. It also signals that we are entering the high time for inspiration and ideas. It also suggests to me that we may be up for a fall that is warmer than usually. For clues, I always look at the trees (they always know), and as of now there are no yellow or red leaves that I would expect by now, and this is another indication of a warm and long autumn.

 In addition to being an important astrological event per se, the Sun ingress into Libra is accompanied by two remarkable connections between the Sun and other planets. As soon as the Sun enters Libra, a so-called Grand trine forms in the sky – easy-going 120 degrees relationship between the Sun, Pluto and Uranus. All three will be in Air sign, stressing communication, information and exchange of ideas. Being a relationship that is easy-going and easy-flowing, this configuration promises non-confrontational discussions, new information releases, new discoveries and breakthrough ideas, and transformative changes in the information and communications field. As I anticipated and predicted in my newsletters, blog, and interviews, Uranus in Gemini already manifested as a reveal of a new drug Rentosertib that is currently in the last stages of a clinical trial. This drug was designed with the use of AI (not surprisingly, with two generational planets, Uranus and Pluto, being in Air signs Gemini and Aquarius) and was expected to relieve and reverse lung fibrosis (again, not surprising with Uranus, the planet of invention, in Gemini ruling lungs). In addition to its desired effects, something unexpected happened: in only a few weeks, the drug reversed aging in patients, as was revealed by multiple aging markers...

Another event deserving our attention is an opposition between Libra Sun and Neptune in Aries that is already forming and will be perfected in just a couple of days after the Sun enters Libra. As any opposition, this is a relationship between planets seeking a balance, curious about the other’s opinion, as well as intense contest between two energies – the clarity, light and choice of the Sun and the fog, uncertainty and confusion of Neptune. The core tension is between clarity of identity, purpose, visibility, and conscious direction (Sun) versus idealization, diffusion, sacrifice, confusion, spirituality, projection, and longing (Neptune). With the Sun in Libra, identity tends to seek balance, fairness, relationship, harmony, diplomacy, and social reciprocity. Neptune in Aries can dissolve certainty around independence, action, aggression, initiative, and self-assertion. So the opposition can produce a strong question of: How do I stay true to myself and to my relationships without losing direction in someone else's needs, ideals, fantasies, or projections?

I decided to offer the interpretations of this opposition for each sign, depending on where the opposition falls in each Ascendant sign or Sun sign chart and what areas of life it stresses.

Aries: Partnership vs. personal identity. Relationships become central to identity, while Neptune in the 1st makes the native more fluid, impressionable, or difficult to define. Other people may see what they want to see, or the person may adapt too much to partners or struggle to assert a clear independent identity.

Taurus: Daily reality vs. surrender and escape. Work, routine, health habits, and practical responsibilities can become disrupted by fatigue, avoidance, hidden pressures, or a need for retreat. Taurus Ascendants and Suns will be very sensitive to environment. These several days are excellent for compassionate service, spiritual practice, or healing work, but poor boundaries can drain energy.

Gemini: Romance, children, creativity, pleasure, and personal expression are contrasted with friends, groups, organizations, audiences, and collective ideals. Romantic idealization can be strong, including attraction to unavailable people or situations involving sacrifice. Creatively, however, this can be exceptionally fertile

Cancer:  Home, family, roots, and private identity conflict with career, public image, reputation, or authority. Career direction may be vague or idealized, and the person may be misunderstood publicly. A parent or authority figure may also seem elusive, unavailable, or difficult to define. At its best, this can support an artistic, spiritual, compassionate, or service-oriented vocation.

Leo: Everyday thinking, communication, documents, siblings, and immediate facts are set against larger beliefs, philosophy, religion, education, travel, or your worldview. The imagination can be very strong, but facts can become mixed with wishful thinking or belief. Information needs verification.

Virgo:  Personal money, possessions, values, and security are challenged by shared resources, debts, taxes, inheritances, investments, or financial dependence. Agreements may be unclear or overly idealistic. There can be a tendency to sacrifice too much materially for another person.

Libra:  Self vs. relationships. Identity can become blurred because of partners or other people. There may be idealization of a partner, savior/victim dynamics, projection, or difficulty knowing where one's own identity ends and the relationship begins. Constructively, tremendous empathy and sensitivity to others, but clear boundaries are essential.

Scorpio:  Inner life vs. practical functioning. Scorpios may be inclined to be private, introspective, spiritual, or hidden, while Neptune makes work, schedules, obligations, or physical routines difficult to define. The person may feel called toward service or sacrifice but can become overwhelmed by ordinary demands. Strong need for solitude and energetic boundaries.

Sagittarius: Groups/future goals vs. personal creativity and romance. Involvement with communities, organizations, causes, or friendships may be idealized, and these connections may conflict with romantic relationships or creative illusions. A creative or romantic situation may temporarily blur judgment about long-term goals.

Capricorn:  Career/public identity vs. private life. The person may seek recognition, leadership, or social contribution, while Neptune dissolves certainty around home, family, ancestry, or emotional foundations. Family circumstances can undermine career clarity, or public ambition can be based partly on an idealized image of what success should look like.

Aquarius: Beliefs and meaning vs. facts and communication. Aquarians will feel strong attraction to philosophy, spirituality, religion, or a meaningful worldview, but Neptune can make communication ambiguous or information unreliable. Excellent for symbolic, poetic, or intuitive thinking, but conclusions must be checked against facts.

Pisces: Shared resources/intimacy vs. personal worth. Intense emotional or financial bonds may conflict with uncertainty around one's own values, income, or self-worth. There can be financial vagueness or blurred boundaries around ownership. Psychologically, one may sacrifice personal security for intimacy or emotional fusion.
